Please see the message below from the City of Coalinga. We are expecting a lot of rain in the next few days and want to make sure everyone is as prepared as possible.

Good morning, Coalinga!

As you may be aware, we are expecting high winds and a significant amount of rainfall over the next few days.

In order to prepare for this, our wonderful Public Works employees have been out clearing storm drains, filling sand bags, fueling equipment and much more.

We do have sand bags available for City of Coalinga residents. In order to obtain sand bags, we are asking the following:

1. Sand and bags will be available beginning at about noon on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Coalinga Fire Department located at 300 W. Elm St. Please bring your own shovel to fill your bags.

2. If you are elderly or physically disabled, we do have a limited number of pre-filled bags available. Those are available now at the Coalinga Public Works Yard located at 135 E. Sacramento St. and there will be some located in the City Hall parking lot off of Durian St. beginning at about noon on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

3. Sand bags are limited to ten (10) per household. While ten is the maximum, please do not take more than you need.

4. Sand bags are available to City of Coalinga residents only.

Additionally, we may experience some power outages due to the wind, please have flashlights readily available and have a plan for food, medication and other necessities.
