Measure X was approved by District voters on November 8, 2022, authorizing the District to issue general obligation bonds in the amount of up to $39,200,000 to fund facility construction and maintenance within the Coalinga-Huron Unified School District. The purpose of the bond measure is “to construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, or replace school facilities.” The specific projects include construction and modernization on campuses within the district dating back to 1934. These projects include but are not limited to new classroom construction, replacement of deteriorating plumbing and roofing, replacement of outdated heating, cooling and ventilation systems, and overall modernization of classrooms to meet 21st century educational standards.

MEASURE X CITIZENS’ OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE
NOTICE is hereby given that the Coalinga-Huron Joint Unified School District has established a citizens’ oversight committee to oversee expenditures of Measure X bond funds, which was the bond measure approved by District voters on November 8, 2022. The District is presently accepting applications from interested citizens to serve on the committee. The committee will consist of seven members who meet, review and report on expenditures of bond funds to ensure money is used only for voter-approved purposes. Interested persons may obtain an application from the District Office or download the application from the link below.
Application deadline has been extended.
The completed application must be received no later than 12:00 PM on March 21, 2023 to:
