Welcome Back to the 2026–2027 School Year

Dear Coalinga-Huron Unified School District Families, Students, and Staff,

Welcome back!

I am excited to begin another school year together and hope that each of you had a summer filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time with family and friends. As we welcome our students back to our classrooms and campuses, I am filled with optimism for the year ahead and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Coalinga-Huron Unified School District community.

This year, the theme that will guide our work is:

Right Work. Right People. Right Now.

Right Work means staying focused on the work that makes the greatest difference for our students. This year, we will continue placing a strong emphasis on literacy and mathematics through our Literacy Task Force and CGI Math Initiatives. Strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills provide students with the foundation they need to grow in confidence, pursue opportunities, and prepare for their futures. We must remain focused on the work that matters most and ensure that our efforts continue to support student learning and achievement.

Right People recognizes the incredible individuals who make our District strong. Our certificated staff, classified staff, and management team each play an essential role in the success of our students. Every lesson taught, every student supported, every problem solved, every encouraging conversation, and every decision made contributes to the experience our students have each day. I am grateful for the commitment, care, and professionalism our employees bring to their work and to our students.

Right Now means recognizing the importance of the present moment. Our students need us to be ready to meet their needs today. It means ensuring that students have the support necessary to succeed and that our staff has access to the training, resources, and encouragement needed to do their very best work. Together, we will continue creating the conditions in which every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

This is an exciting time for Coalinga-Huron Unified School District. I truly believe that when we come together with a shared purpose, clear priorities, and high expectations, great things can happen. Our students are counting on us, our families are important partners in their success, and our staff continues to demonstrate the dedication and commitment necessary to make a meaningful difference.

To our students, we are so glad you are back and cannot wait to see all that you accomplish this year.

To our families, thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership.

And to our staff, thank you for your dedication and for the heart you bring to this important work each and every day.

I am looking forward to a year filled with growth, learning, opportunity, and success. Together, we will continue to focus on the Right Work, supported by the Right People, at the Right Time.
