Superintendent Moore Named LCC's August Catalyzer of the Month

This month, Learner Centered Collaborative recognized our own Dr. David Moore, Superintendent of Coalinga-Huron Unified School District, as their Catalyzer of the Month! By forming and empowering a nearly 100-person Guiding Coalition (including learners, teachers, parents, and even the mayor) to co-create the CHUSD Framework for the Future, Dr. Moore is ensuring that those closest to the work are contributing their experiences, hopes, and talents to a bold strategic plan.

This month, Devin Vodicka is honored to recognize David Moore, Ed.D., Superintendent of Coalinga-Huron Unified School District, as our Catalyzer of the Month!

Dr. Moore embodies a curious and humble approach to leadership that has seen him invite members from across the communities of Coalinga and Huron, California, to shape a learner-centered vision for the future of their district.

By forming and empowering a nearly 100-person Guiding Coalition (including students, teachers, parents, and even the mayor) to co-create the CHUSD Framework for the Future (https://lnkd.in/e_UhstVN), Dr. Moore is ensuring that those closest to the work are contributing their experiences, hopes, and talents to a bold strategic plan.

A highlight of collaborating with Dr. Moore is the way he uses transparency and personal accountability to inspire shared vision and shared action. He loves working side-by-side with the learners, families, and community members of his district to collaboratively define what success looks like and plan how they'll achieve those success criteria in every classroom.

To this end, he and a cross-section of the CHUSD community are creating a Learner-Centered Scorecard (https://lnkd.in/em3XnThJ) to set clear metrics for understanding the extent to which big ideas are actually leading to specific changes in the lived experience of those in the district.

By encouraging others to share their abilities in meaningful ways, Dr. Moore distributes leadership across the system and amplifies what’s possible far beyond his own talents (impressive as they are!).
