Throughout September, schools across the country have recognized Attendance Awareness Month and the important role regular attendance plays in student success.
As we close out the month, we want to leave you with one simple reminder: Every day a student is at school is another opportunity to learn, connect, grow, and belong. 🧡🖤

Today, our #GuidingCoalition came together for the first time this school year as we continue our work with Learner-Centered Collaborative to move #CHUSD’s #FrameworkForTheFuture from vision to reality.
This year, our focus is Leading Meaningful Change—digging deeper into the Framework, turning our shared vision into meaningful action, and ensuring the work we do creates lasting impact for our students, staff, families, and community. 🧡🖤
And we want to bring you along with us!
Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin a monthly series highlighting different parts of the Framework for the Future—breaking down what they mean, why they matter, and what they can look like across CHUSD.
The Framework isn’t just a document. It’s a shared vision for where we’re going—and the work to bring it to life is just beginning.

Today, we continued moving our #FrameworkForTheFuture from vision to action! 🧡🖤
Working alongside Learner-Centered Collaborative, our team continued developing a Scorecard that will help us identify the strategic actions that move our priorities forward—and, just as importantly, determine how we’ll know those actions are making a difference.
We are being intentional with the moves we make, looking for meaningful evidence of progress, learning along the way, and making adjustments when needed.
Each step brings our Framework for the Future further to life as we work toward what matters most: creating the best possible outcomes for our students, our schools, and our entire #CHUSD community.

👋 Meet the #FacesOfCHUSD! Today we're looking at Dr. Marcy Lawrence, our new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services.
Dr. Lawrence brings nearly two decades of progressive educational leadership experience across California and Colorado. Most recently, she served as Director of Special Education at Santa Paula Unified School District. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting students, strengthening educational programs, and fostering collaborative relationships that help school districts thrive.
